This year will mark 103 years since the Battles of Coronel and the Falklands in which almost 4,000 British and German seamen lost their lives. With the anniversary of the Battle of the Falklands fast approaching we thought a great way to teach the kids about the battles would be to re-enact them on Sapper Hill, the location that Chris Andreasen, a Falkland Islands Volunteer (later Falkland Islands Defence Force), first sighted the German ships approaching from the south-east on December 8th 1914. Following the re-enactment, the group proceeded to the 1914 Centenary Memorial to polish the plaques.
