Cape Pembroke Peninsula Walk
25 children joined the staff and volunteers of the FIMNT on Saturday 21st October 2017 for a three hour exploration of the Cape Pembroke Peninsula. The group learned about the lighthouse and the treacherous Billy Rocks as well as the Atlantic Conveyor and the memorial that stands at the head of the peninsula and what it signifies (they also polished the propeller - which is actually believed to be either from HMS Guardian or HMS Protector). The children also had to identify flora and fauna found in the area and 'step out' the length of the lighthouse!
This was our first trip and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!
