The big camp out
Over 40 children and adults camped out overnight at the Sapper Hill Corral on Saturday 2nd December. After pitching their tents the group headed south to Mullet Creek armed with nets and fishing rods for a spot of fishing... and fishing they did! In total 7 fish were caught - these were either put back or cooked on the barbecue later on the evening.
The group were later joined by Joan and Terry Spruce. Joan captivated the children with a description of what life would have been like at the time that the Corral was built.
The children enjoyed games such as rounders before hitting their tents for an 'uneventful' but very cold night. In the morning there was time for another quick barbecue before all headed back home tired, dirty but content.
