No. In March 1833 the Beagle, commanded by Captain Fitzroy called at Port Louis.  Charles Darwin was on board as part of his global voyage of discovery.  He travelled throughout the Islands classifying many undiscovered species, such as the Warrah; while a botanist, Hooker, who travelled on the Beagle, did a lot of work studying indigenous Falkland Island grasses, such as Tussac grass.
