Featuring film footage and original items as well as a wide range of photographs, we had an excellent turn-out for our exhibition marking the 40th anniversary of the salvage of the ss "Great Britain" in May.
The exhibition ran for almost two months and proved to be popular with our visitors as well as uncovering some interesting items and photographs that had not been previously exhibited. We are particularly grateful to Marion and Tony Morrison for allowing us to make use of some of their beautiful images of the salvage (visit their website - http://www.southamericanpictures.com)
The early part of the year was very busy with enquiries related to the "Great Britain" anniversary as organisations, newspapers and television stations searched for information, images and oral histories. We were pleased to be able to help whenever we were able.
