Paul raffled two copies of his book during his talks. Pictured are Paul (left) and Colonel Freddie Kemp (centre) of 9 PARA Sqn RE who was also here in 1982. Freddie, who was the winner of the book on the first night wanted to donate his copy to an Islander who had been in the Islands during the conflict. Lennie Ford was in the audience who happens to have also have been at Fitzroy at the same time as Paul.
In 1982 Paul R G Haley, Senior Photographer with
Soldier Magazine, sailed south with the Task Force and followed British Troops on their ardous journey from San Carlos to Stanley. He shot over 2,000 images of which he kindly agreed to share some 200 with us during two talks held at the HDM in March.
We are very grateful to Paul for donating half of the proceeds of the admission fees to the FIMNT. The other half will go to Liberty Lodge in Stanley.
