Teaberry picking on Wireless Ridge
It's March and that means one thing in the Falklands (other than the weather becoming that little bit cooler that is!) - delicious teaberries are out and ready for picking! You can almost guarantee seeing the sight of crouching fans of these delicious little berries as you drive along the Mount Pleasant Road at this time of year.
What do they taste like? It is a taste difficult to describe - some say the closest taste is that of vanilla while others compare it to gin. Islanders love to put them into buns or cheesecake or even make jam from them.
It wasn't all fun though, the group learned about how Wireless Ridge got its name as well as the battles that happened there in 1982.
